What is the venue like?
La Demeure Hotel is in the heart of the historic of Sidi Bou Saïd. The events will take place indoors and outdoors.

What should I wear?
Everyone is welcome to wear what they are most comfortable in, truly! However Semi-Formal is our official wedding dress code.

What shoes do I wear?
Due to uneven surfaces, the nature of being outdoors and in grass we encourage flat shoes that allow for balance and comfort. We suggest to have high heel protectors.

What will the weather be like?
In September, the weather in Tunis is typically warm and sunny. Daytime temperatures average around 30°C (86°F) with nighttime temperatures dropping to about 21°C (70°F). If you're planning to stay longer, lightweight and breathable clothing, along with sun protection, is recommended to handle the heat. September is also a good time for water sports and beach activities, as the sea temperature remains warm at around 25°C (77°F), However, the weather at night can be a bit chilly, so we suggest bringing a jacket.

Where do I park during the wedding?
There will be limited parking number, so we recommend to let us know in advance if you need a pick and drop.

What should I expect for the cultural ceremony?
Tunisian weddings are rich in tradition and cultural ceremonies. In the wedding is an imam involved with several Islamic and cultural ceremonies. Imam's Role: The imam officiates the marriage contract. This is a religious ceremony where the bride and groom, declare their consent to marry. Recitation of Quranic Verses: The ceremony typically starts with the recitation of Quranic verses, and the imam gives a short sermon on the responsibilities of marriage.

The Sofreh Aghd is a traditional ceremonial in Persian weddings. It is a central part of the marriage ceremony, where the couple exchanges vows. The word "Sofreh" means "spread" and "Aghd" means "ceremony" or "marriage contract. The Sofreh Aghd is beautifully decorated with symbolic items, each representing a specific aspect of life and marriage.

Some of the key elements of Sofreh Aghd include:
1. Mirror (Aayeneh) and Candles: The mirror symbolizes light and brightness, while the candles (usually placed on either side of the mirror) represent the bride and groom and their bright future together. 2. Honey (Asal): The couple dips their fingers in honey and feeds each other, symbolizing the sweetness of life they will share. 3. Naan-o Paneer-o Sabzi: Bread, feta cheese, and fresh herbs, symbolizing prosperity and the sustenance of the couple's life together. 4. Sugar Cones (Kalleh Ghand): Two sugar cones are ground over the couple's heads by married female relatives to sweeten their life together. 5. Holy Book (Quran, Bible, or another religious text): It is placed on the spread to bless the marriage. In more modern or secular ceremonies, poetry or other meaningful books may be used. 6. Coins (Sekeh): Symbolizing wealth and prosperity for the couple. 7. Decorative Items: These can include nuts, spices, fruits, and other symbolic foods, each with its own meaning related to fertility, health, and happiness.

What should I expect for the reception?
The reception will start around 5:00 pm. With drinks and finger food till dinner time.

We have put together an extensive menu featuring traditional Tunisian cuisine, including vegetarian, meat and fish. There’s something for everyone. Please let us know if the kitchen needs to accommodate any food intolerances.
